A report released by Mitchells & Butlers group has shown that sales of breakfasts eaten out in the UK are set to nearly double on 2014 figures. The operator owns Harvester, Toby Carvery and All Bar One, as well as many other well-known brands.
2014 figures showed breakfast sales of 6 million, the figure this year was 6 million sales for the first 26 weeks of the year, on course for a massive increase of 100% for 2015 sales.
Mitchells & Butlers said that they spotted the trend early and now have a breakfast offering on the menu in most of their sites, a wise move now that over two thirds of the UK eats breakfast out at least once a month.
We’ve written on this subject before and these figures make for interesting reading. Pub, bar and restaurant customers with a kitchen facility really should consider the possibility of taking advantage of this rapidly growing revenue stream.
